    Many engineering students will purposely avoid a mining job, but they may be ignoring what a mining job could do for their career. Working in a mining job early on can look good on a resume and make a new engineer a more appealing prospect. A mining job requires an engineer to be capable - those who aren't could endanger lives, so a reasonable stint in a mining job will often prove that an engineer can handle projects with a lot of responsibility.
