A mining job is as worthwhile as you decide to make it, as some people choose to work for a short period of time while others are in it for a career. It is true that a large amount of money can be made in a fairly short space of time with relatively little experience in a mining job, but that somewhat relies on the continuing resources boom. Once that ends, it is the people who have worked on creating a career in mining who will be able to continue to make good money from it. The more you put into a mining career, the more likely a mining job will be worthwhile.
